FOR THE MASS Business
Users and experts are not surprised by the statistics indicating BYD’s rapid increase.
One of the main deciding factors for many BYD drivers was the cost, which they claimed was comparatively lower than those driven by internal combustion engines ( ICE ) vehicles and other EV brands.  ,
Ms. Ng Lay Peng, who has only fueled ICE cars before, not intended to buy an EV. She purchased the BYD Atto 3 design early next year. But she was influenced by the Taiwanese car’s quality and price.  ,
She claimed that the BYD type far exceeded her expectations despite the similar cost range’s ICE vehicles appearing “quite basic.”  ,
The 36-year-old works in public relations, claiming that the car “feels pleasant and the drive feels secure” when you drive it doesn’t think like a cheap car because it has all the bells and whistles.  ,
She claimed that the Atto 3 likewise had amenities like a sunroof and a big inside. She was considering installing these on an ICE car at the same time, but at a higher price.  ,
Overall, the BYD vehicle was about 20 % less expensive than the ICE vehicle she was considering.  ,
Another Ford owner, who just wanted to be known as Mr. Tan, claimed to have purchased the M6 type earlier this year for about S$ 175, 000.
He claimed that a standard ICE vehicle of the same type would be slightly more expensive and do not include the BYD’s characteristics, such as sunroof, tyre pressure check, and ventilated tickets.  ,
Professor Lawrence Loh claimed that the Chinese manufacturer’s size advantages have led to the manufacturer’s cheaper materials.  ,
According to Prof Loh, who is the Director of the Centre for Governance and Sustainability at the National University of Singapore ( NUS) Business School,” It’s already the top selling car in China and the top selling EV car in the world.”  ,
He continued,” These cars have been manufactured at scale in large stock structures,” which helps lower the cost of each car.  ,
According to Associate Professor Raymond Ong from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NUS, the EV is designed for the general public and is regarded as an “entry-level” solution.  ,
When you compare the cost of a typical entry-level Ford to Tesla, he said,” BYD is very competitive in its sales, which affects potential car buyers and leads to a rise in its marketplace share.”  ,
According to YouTuber Daren Yoong, Tesla has a unique benefit statement.  ,
It emphasizes a more “minimalist” idea that is popular with techies, but it also appeals to a different BYD market.  ,
The BYD is a great place for most people to begin, according to Mr. Yoong, who also works as a salesperson for a US tech firm.  ,
