Coalition still united, insists PM

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra monday assured the alliance state that it would remain united and dissuade speculation about a House breakup.

She was responding to some reports that a member of the Bhumjaithai Party, a member of the government coalition, may reject the budget expenses for the 2026 fiscal year in the second reading scheduled for May 28 to September 30, which could lead to her dissolution of the House.

When asked if she would break the House, Ms. Paetongtarn looked shocked and said,” Why should I break the House? No “house disintegration”

Members of the internet informed her that reports suggested Bhumjaithai would accept the expenses because it was upset about the ongoing investigation into alleged vote-rigging in the Senate election next year.

Observers claim that lawmakers who are alleged to possess Bhumjaithai connections are now a majority in the Upper House.

According to observers, the so-called “blue” union, which refers to Bhumjaithai, is said to be the largest by way of the three parties in the fresh Upper House, adding that the violet camp is made up of at least 150 lawmakers.

Ms. Paetongtarn asserted that all government coalition parties are responsible for the writing of the funds bill.

She added that she had not spoken with Deputy Prime Minister and Bhumjaithai head Anutin Charnvirakul because he is still recovering from an eye function.

” Government unification is still present,” she continued.

She also refuted information of a conflict between Bhumjaithai’s reported de facto leader Newin Chidchob and Thaksin Shinwatra, her father, who is alleged to be the de facto leader of the ruling Pheu Thai Party.

She noted that she has a duty to maintain state security because the two do never carry any official positions in the government.

How can I letting things get out of hand while I’m still perfect minister?”

Wisut Chainarun, the general government whip and Pheu Thai MP, asserted that all alliance events ‘ support of the budget expenses in the first reading is considered a formal vote.
