The Meteorological Department announced that the rainy season may actually start on May 15.

Director-general Sukanyanee Yawinchan stated on Tuesday that the official start of the moist season was reliant on the following three things:

A easterly storm at an altitude of about 1.5 kilometers and an east wind at a higher level of 10 kilometers result in persistent rain covering 60 % or more of the North, Northeast, Central Plain, and East areas.

Ms. Sukanyanee claimed that this wet season was expected to have less rain than last year, but that it was also about 5 % more than the average for the year. Even so, some places may not have enough water to run water plants. &nbsp,

From June to mid-July, snowfall may decrease in the North, Northeast, and higher Central Plains, next raise suddenly until August to October.

The North and Northeast would be impacted by a couple tropical storms, but there wouldn’t be another significant flood in 2011, she predicted. &nbsp,
