Due to concerns that game is a form of gambling, the Taliban authorities in Afghanistan has suspended the match until further notice.
According to authorities, the game will remain out of the public’s reach until it is proven whether it is compatible with Islamic law.
Chess is the most recent activity to be prohibited by the Taliban. Basically, people are prohibited from playing sports.
The Taliban has consistently imposed laws and regulations that reflect its elegant vision of Islamist rules since taking office in August 2021.
Chess is” considered a methods of gambling,” according to Atal Mashwani, the Taliban administration’s official for sports department, on Sunday.
He told the AFP information agency,” There are spiritual concerns regarding the game of chess.”
Chess is not a game in Afghanistan until these issues are addressed.
Unknown shop owner in Kabul, who has hosted casual chess competitions in the past, said he would accept the decision but that it would harm his company.

The authorities banned freestyle combat such as mixed martial arts ( MMA ) in professional competition last year, claiming it was too “violent” and problematic in terms of sharia.
A Taliban director stated in August that it was discovered that the sport has problems with Sharia and that many aspects of it conflict with Islamic lessons.
When the Taliban passed a law prohibiting “face-punching,” MMA competitions were properly outlawed in 2021.
