India and Pakistan may calm the conflicts, according to US Vice President JD Vance, who stated on May 8 that the US cannot control its nuclear-armed Eastern neighbors, and that a conflict between them would become “none of our company.”
We want this situation to end as quickly as possible. However, we can’t control these nations, Vance said in an appointment on Martha MacCallum’s Fox News program The Story.
What we can do is try to avert this situation from de-escalation a little bit, but we’re never going to get involved in a war that’s ostensibly unrelated to our interests and has nothing to do with America’s ability to control it,” he continued.
Pakistan remains a US alliance despite its lowered importance as a result of Washington’s decision to step up its influence in neighboring Afghanistan in 2021. India is a significant partner for Washington, which seeks to counter China’s growing influence.

Pakistan and India have accused one another of starting drone strikes, and Islamabad’s defense secretary called for more retaliation on the second day of significant fighting on Thursday.
Nearly four hundred people were killed in the two days of fighting.
The most recent increase in the decades-old India-Pakistan conflict started on April 22 when extremists killed 26 individuals in an attack on India-administered Kashmir. New Delhi blamed Islamabad, which denied the accusations and demanded a natural investigation.
