A 65-year-old Asian male who is in a wheelchair has been contacted by police that he was robbed of more than 11, 000 ringgit by a Thai woman he met on a Pattaya beach and was later invited back to his room.
On guard, a group of Pattaya Civil Defence Volunteers discovered the person on the beach at around 1 a.m. on Thursday. He was yelling for assistance in catching a criminal.
The group assisted in bringing the person to the Muang Pattaya officers place, where he claimed to have been robbed of about US$ 350, or about 11,400 baht.
The gentleman informed the police that he had met the woman on the beach and that they were chatting up, so he invited her back to his room. Nevertheless, he later learned that she had left after taking a bath.
Finally he looked through his things to see that the money was gone.
The man attempted to find the criminal on foot by returning his wheelchair to the beach, but was unable to get her. He claimed the girl had changed her attire but could not recall her face.
Police in Pattaya were looking for the person while gathering data.
