Mae Mali, the nation’s oldest living rhinoceros, will turn 58 this trip at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chon Buri with the assistance of the general public.

A hippo-themed museum, as well as customary holiday festivities and games for attendees, are all part of the festivities scheduled from Saturday through Monday.

According to Attapon Srihayrun, director of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand( ZPO ), visitors who were born on September 8, the day Mae Mali was born, will also be given gifts.

The longest-living captive species in the nation is thought to be Mae Mali.

On September 8, 1966, the crocodile was born at the Koelner Zoo in Cologne, Germany. On June 8, 1967, she was moved to the Dusit Zoo. She has witnessed 24 prime ministers come and go since next.

The crocodile was relocated to Khao Kheow Open Zoo in 2018 after Dusit Zoo was shut down. Since then, she has resided there under the close supervision of the park’s clinical staff.

At least 50 kilograms of grass and different plants are consumed daily by Mae Mali, who now weighs about two kilograms. The hippos has produced 14 calf.
