Four people were injured, two critically, in separate fire explosions during New Year clock activities in Nakhon Ratchasima and Chon Buri’s Pattaya.
Two men were seriously hurt in massive fire bombs in Wang Nam Khieo and Chalerm Prakiart regions on Tuesday night during the New Year’s clock festivities in Nakhon Ratchasima.
At the enclosure house in Wang Nam Khieo’s area, Somyos Butsadee, 35, sustained severe injury to his five hands. Before taking him to Wang Nam Khieo Hospital, first assistance was provided for him by the rescue team.
In Chalerm Prakiat city, Natthawat Thangphudsa, 27, was critically injured in his left hand with all hands sustaining serious wounds. He was admitted to the hospital’s Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima.
A group of foreigners lit fireworks wrong, injuring a Chinese person and a Thai woman in Pattaya, which caused shrapnel to sprinkle over the region during a countdown to the New Year.
After being called to Soi Phra Tamnak 5 in Pattaya area in the Bang Lamung area for a firecracker explosion on a beach that, rescue workers arrived at 10.36 pm. A Chinese man, who was only identified as Xiong, was found with injury to his feet and system. Thanna-orn Chaksarn, 42, sustained small shrapnel wounds to her nose. Before being rushed to a local hospital, both were initially treated.
Two boxes of lights were found abandoned in the area by the rescue group. Witnesses reported that the injured were drinking on the shore when a group of international citizens lit lights several times despite being told not to do so by locals. Immediately, incorrectly-lit fireworks caused debris to sprinkle over the area. Two visitors were hurt when many of the tourists fled in despair.
