A group of 36 self-proclaimed separate lawmakers has originally agreed to support Boonsong Noisopon, a past career prosecutor, for the article of Assistant Senate Speaker, according to a team member.
One of the 36 legislators who met on July 18 to discuss the future collection of the Senate Speaker and two deputies, Nikhom Makrungchang, stated yesterday that the people chose to back Mr. Boonsong based on his credentials.
Mr. Boonsong has a strong legal background, having previously held roles in the highest positions in the Courts of Justice, including as the Regional 7 President of the Court of Appeal and as a Supreme Court judge. He is also a former part of the Election Commission.
