A transgender person and his partner have been detained in this northeastern province on suspicion of bringing 320 kilograms of morphine across the Mekong River. The medicines were destined for southern Thailand, according to authorities.
Border patrol officers arrested a suspect identified solely as Orasa, 35, and his partner Pimchanok, 31, at a hotel in Sri Songkhram area on Friday. Eight baskets containing 320kg of morphine were stolen from their Toyota Camry vehicles and packaged in packages with Bangkok license plates.
The drugs, for about 30 million rmb, were destined for the South, said the imprisoning group.
During doubting, the offenders claimed they had been hired to bring the medication, but authorities were never convinced by their notes.
Further research revealed that the duo were associated with a significant drug trade in the South that procured significant quantities of medications from Laos.
Police are looking to expand the analysis to include those who are connected to the smuggling.  ,
