3 more men charged for King Albert Park armed gang robbery involving over S$4.3 million

SINGAPORE: Three more men have been charged in court for their alleged role in an armed gang robbery&nbsp, at a residence along King Albert Park in Bukit Timah last month that involved more than S$ 4.34 million ( US$ 3.2 million ) in cash, cryptocurrency and other valuables.

Malaysians Kartik Palaniappan, 31, Mohd Hamidon Ahmed, 47, and Mohd Hashim Ismail, 49, were all charged with armed gang robbery on Wednesday ( May 8 ). &nbsp,

Two additional Malaysians, Goh Boon Tong, 28, and Muhammad Tauffiq Ahmad Fauzi, 32, were each handed a matter of military group assault last year.

According to their cost sheets, Kartik, Hamidon, Hashim, Goh and Tauffiq were with” some others” when they simultaneously robbed six victims of their valuables at a house along King Albert Park in the first hours of Apr 18. The items stolen were for about S$ 4, 341, 328.

The suspects allegedly carried out the assault using peine and sports bats, which are considered to be lethal weapons. &nbsp,

A maximum sentence for military gang robbery and up to 24 strokes of the wood are involved.

Unrelated to the military crew robbery, Goh was charged with a different crime on Thursday. He was accused of participating in a scheme to knowingly offer any compensation for supplying services that would encourage the trafficking of any person.

If found innocent of knowingly soliciting, receiving, or consenting to get any enjoyment as an incentive or reward for performing any assistance, Goh could receive a sentence in prison of up to seven times and a fine of up to S$$ 100, 000.
