SINGAPORE: Three men, elderly between 38 plus 44, were caught for evading the roadblock and harmful driving, said the police in a news release upon Friday (Aug 26).
The particular incident took place on Monday at three or more. 25am. Police said they were conducting the roadblock along Nicoll Highway towards Mountbatten Road, whenever three vehicles produced a three-point convert before the roadblock plus drove against traffic flow.
“The officers immediately initiated a pursuit plus managed to intercept one of the vehicles along Syed Alwi Road, ” said the police.
A 44-year-old male driver was caught for dangerous generating and evading the particular roadblock.
“Through ground enquiries and with the aid of pictures from police digital cameras and CCTVs (closed-circuit television), officers from Central Police Department and traffic law enforcement established the identities of the other two motorists, ” said the authorities.
The two guys, aged 38 plus 44, were caught on Monday and Tuesday respectively.
The three vehicles were seized, said the authorities, adding that inspections are ongoing.
Any person found guilty of evading a roadblock may be fined up to S$10, 000, jailed for up to seven years, or both.
The offence associated with dangerous driving carries a jail term of up to 12 months, or with a fine up to S$5, 000, or each.
Roadblocks are conducted to prevent and detect crimes, said the police. Members of public are encouraged to cooperate with police officers when approached throughout roadblocks, they additional.
