PHUKET: Three Kenyan women were detained at the Phuket airport after having nearly 3 kilograms of cocaine — roughly worth 10 million baht — found in their stomachs and vagina.
The Narcotics Control Board’s Office informed local police and customs officers on Sunday that some immigrants were bringing cocaine into the region through the Phuket airport, which led to the arrests.
According to the Sakhu police chief, officials at the airports saw the three African women on Tuesday and searched their bodies, but they found nothing illegal.
However, after X-rays obtained at Thalang Hospital revealed a different tale.
Images of their stomach revealed heroin pills that they had ingested. According to the law, the girl had also inserted larger plates containing the medication into their vaginas.
According to Pol Col Salan Santisatsanakul, captain of the Sakhu police depot, police ultimately recovered 2, 857 milligrams of heroin.
Faith Wanza Musembi, 26, Nelly Gacheri Ruuri, 25, and Grace Wangari Karok, 34, were named as the offenders.
They were accused of conspiring to possess Category 2 medications. For legal actions, all three were brought to the Sakhu law place.
