Two Chinese nationals who are suspected of breaking into homes were each charged with robbing a home in Pasir Panjang on Friday ( Dec 27 ).
Zhang Yongxiang, 52, and Feng Yunlong, 38, are accused of breaking into a home at Zehnder Road by climbing over the homeowner’s perimeter walls on Dec 18.
They allegedly did this to steal cash and a wallet valued at about S$ 6, 000 ( US$ 4, 400 ), as well as 13 necklaces and other jewellery, the value of which has not been determined.
Zhang and Feng were detained last week on suspicion of breaking into a home in Greenleaf View, Holland Road, on December 16 by releasing a sliding windows.
They allegedly stole a Casio watch for about S$ 150 and a Cartier watch fair S$ 8, 800.
On Friday, the judge granted the lawyer’s software for both people to become remanded for another week, with authorization to be taken out for studies.
The males were needed in prison, according to the police counsel, for assaults and field visits.
They may return to court on Jan 3, 2025.
According to previous statements, Zhang and Feng may have been connected to a burglary gang that operated in the middle of the season.
A slew of burglary in landed estates between June and August were thought to be related to Chinese nationals ‘ involvement in foreign mafias.
In ten cases reported in secret lands near the Rail Corridor and Bukit Timah Road, stolen jewels were scattered across cases worth S$ 3.85 million.
Earlier this month, Wu Jinxing, a 28-year-old Foreign regional who flew to Singapore to collect burglary treasure in July, was jailed for his part in the criminal enterprise.
Two additional Chinese citizens, Long Zhihua, 38, and Luo Changchang, 44, admitted to stealing S$ 570, 100 fair of jewels from a home along Windsor Park Road. The bulk of the riches was never recovered.
A maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a good are the penalties for breaking into a home.
