PATHUM THANI: Two defendants were arrested in Khlong Luang area with 3 kg of crystal meth, 679 joy supplements and various firearms and ammunition, authorities say.
Officers from Khlong Luang police stop received data about an impending distribution of illegal drugs at Soi Rangsit Phirom in tambon Khlong Nheung, according to Pol Maj Gen Yutthana Jonkhun, commander of Pathum Thani officers, on Sunday.
Officers went to the area and found two gentlemen, identified as Ronakorn Kwansomkid, 36, and Paramet Saiphokham, 23, he said.
Searching the landscape, officers found a 9mm handgun and 10 rounds of ammunition in Mr Ronakorn’s hands, together with 3kgs of crystal meth concealed in three items in a piece field, he said.
After broadening their investigation, authorities searched Mr Ronakorn’s space in an opposite apartment and found 679 joy pills, 25 rounds of 5.56mm weapons, 25 rounds of 9mm weapons and an HK33 weapons with a bullet pouch, he said.
He claimed that police also discovered a 9mm handgun with 35 rounds of ammunition and a chamber hidden in a drawer at the site.
The probe was extended to incorporate a research of Mr Ronakorn’s residence in tambon Khlong Song, he said.
He claimed that both men were later detained and accused of carrying weapons and ammunition on public roads without a permit, unlawful possession of weapon, and shared supply of narcotics.
A background search revealed Mr. Ronakorn faces arrest warrants for a number of crimes he allegedly committed in Songkhla between 2007 and 2013, including dealing in illegal weapons and having improper weapons, according to Pol Maj Gen Yutthana.
At the time, the believe was named Adisai Mungmamad, Pol Maj Gen Yutthana said. Additionally, Mr. Ronakorn was charged with attempted murder in January 2014, he claimed.
In another announcement, the Ministry of Public Health has ordered an investigation into a new class of marijuana called” team drugs,” which combine several psychoactive ingredients with animal products.
Jirapong Songwatcharaporn, assistant official of the Ministry of Public Health, said on Sunday that” team drugs” use has become more widespread, mainly among students.
He claimed that the Food and Drug Administration has been given an immediate mission to conduct a thorough assessment of cocaine used in pet medications that contain psychotropic or neurological components.
The investigation’s objective is to find ways to stop the spread of the substance, he said.
