The Central Narcotics Bureau ( CNB) announced on Monday ( Mar 4 ) that an 18-year-old was one of 119 suspected drug offenders who were detained during a recent island-wide operation.  ,
During the February 19 to February 29 raids, which included areas like , Clementi, Geylang, Punggol, Sembawang, Tampines, and Woodlands, drugs with an estimated street value of S$ 343, 000 ( US$ 255, 100 ) were also seized.
About 1,900 grams of heroin, 390 grams of ice, 453 grams of cannabis, 8 grams of ketamine, 2 grams of new psychoactive substances ( NPS), 82 ecstasy tablets, two erimin- 5 tablets, nine lysergic acid diethylamide ( LSD ) stamps, and 1g of cocaine were seized.
19-YEAR-OLD CHARGES AT CNB OFFICER
On February 19, CNB officials visited a 19-year-old suspected drug user’s home in the Clementi Avenue 4 neighborhood.
The Taiwanese youth, who had been hiding behind the curtain, launched a knife at a female agent as they searched the master bedroom.  ,
According to the ministry, the officers arrested and subdued the perpetrator before disarming him.  ,
While CNB continues to look into his drug crimes, “he was referred to ( the ) police for further investigation for criminal intimidation.”
A 21-year-old Malaysian man who was later discovered to be a friend of the 19-year-old was detained for suspected substance misuse within the unit.
