Over the next 20 to 30 years, there will be between 15 and 20 000 public and private residences constructed in Bukit Timah, according to Minister for National Development Desmond Lee’s announcement on Thursday ( May 23 ).  ,

This is in response to Singaporeans ‘ growing desire to live closer to their places of employment in the area.

The Turf City property will be car- lite, walking- polite, and properly- served by public transport, said the Urban Redevelopment Authority ( URA ) in a distinct press release.  ,
The 176- acre page was home to Singapore’s next racetrack from 1933 to 1999, until the Singapore Turf Club relocated to Kranji, noted Mr Lee.  ,
Since 1998, the site has been mostly designated for private use, but he continued, adding that it has been leased out for life and recreational apply until the end of 2023.
The state is planning for 10- second communities, which means that most amenities may be located within a 10- second move ahead.
