On Friday, rescuers in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district recovered 13 more bodies from the debris of the collapsed State Auditorium ( SAO ) building, bringing the death toll to 74, with nine injuries and about 20 people still missing.

Totaling 41 cases in the area, Suriyachai Rawiwan, chairman of the Hazard Prevention and Mitigation Office, said on Friday night, there were 13 bodies discovered by rescue groups using heavy equipment in Zone D, with some extra remains and little body parts discovered.

He claimed that a height of four meters and worries about the security of the building construction have hindered attempts to get to Zone C. The third-floor staircase does have collided into a deeper place below, which may have left more victims.

He continued,” The firefighters have expanded their equipment and are aiming to reach inaccessible places beneath the dust.”

Mr. Suriyachai said the area may be secured on Friday so that engineers from the Department of Public Works and Town &amp, Country Planning can examine the walls and floor shafts for information in the wake of investigations into the 30-storey property’s floor, which is believed to be a potential starting place for the decline. According to investigators, the lift shafts ‘ walls of the 2.1 billion-baht tower are significantly thinner than those of other, comparable buildings.

The Bangkok official stated that search operations will continue until the debris clearing is finished, which is anticipated to be finished by the end of this month.

The 30-story SAO headquarters was the only high-rise structure to collapse in Bangkok on March 28 after a Myanmar-centered earthquake shaken the Thai capital.
