Teams push to reduce accidents
A system of anti-drunk driving organizations is urging recipients of the president’s 10, 000-baht income flyer not to spend the money on booze, to avoid accidents.
The account is better spent on requirements or investments than on alcoholic beverages, according to Phattarabhandhu Krissana, the network’s chair, because having may cause accidents and cause impairments for themselves or others.
He claimed that in order to help ensure accident protection, the network and the Do n’t Drive Drunk Foundation have partnered with the organization to allow recipients of the handout to use a portion of the grant to fund vehicle taxes.
Mr Phattarabhandhu said some members of the network, a 15, 000-strong gathering, are beneficiaries of the money flyer, providing them with a backbone during economic pain.
In order to boost the economy, the network held a visit following the submission of 10,000 baht in cash to 2.1 million disability cardholders and 12.4 million condition welfare cardholders.
The government has given the handbook to vulnerable groups as a priority, with the final shipment of recipients scheduled to receive the payment tomorrow. A state source said the government would proceed with the program but that it might consider lowering the handbook to 5, 000 ringgit per person in the second phase.
According to the cause, this decrease is being taken into account because the government needs to give more money to the treatment of flood victims.
The system will probably receive a portion of the fiscal budget’s 152.7 billion baht, which will be earmarked for the scheme in order to aid overflow victims.
The sharp rise in cash transactions following the implementation, according to deputy finance secretary Paopoom Rojanasakul, indicates that consumers are struggling financially and that their spending did spur economic growth.
Sirikanya Tansakun, an MP of the major opposition People’s Party, said the decreased size of the money flyer, from 500 billion ringgit to 145 billion rmb, will not be sufficient to raise GDP as originally planned.
” Many business users are now complaining that company is still slower despite the handout, and it’s unlikely that we’ll see a climb in economic exercise,” she said.
