Ten illegal migrants from Myanmar seeking employment in Malaysia and two Thai vehicles have been detained by police in the Chana region of this southwestern Thai state.  ,
On Saturday night, a crew of immigration and bridge authorities detained a Honda coupe and a Mitsubishi Pajero on a remote road in the Chana district’s tambon Taling Chan.
According to Pol Col Chanokruadee Pongsiri, director of Highway Police Division 7, they were acting on a tip that two automobiles may bring illegal immigrants from Chana to Thepa area.  ,  ,
The Thai vehicles were identified as Donjaras Marnbao, 44, and Nurhasan Dee-mae, 30.
Mr Donjaras drove the Honda vehicle, which was driven away as a alert, while Mr Nurhasan was in the Pajero packed with 10 Burmese nationals—seven men and three girls.
Thai vehicles and all of Myanmar’s citizens were being held by police for legal actions.
The drivers admitted to receiving 2, 000 baht each to pick up the illegal migrants from Songkhla’s Rattapoom area and take them to Pattani province’s Muang area, where they would be picked up by another vehicle.
The owners claimed to have been hired by a Pattani native simply known as Bae-Ning and had done this before a few times.  ,
Pol Col Chanokruadee said all the Myanmar immigrants, most of them from Yangon, had now travelled five times before being arrested. When they arrived in Malaysia, they had to pay a Myanmar dealer about 120, 000 ringgit each.  ,
