The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore ( MPA ) announced on Wednesday ( Sep 4 ) that a search is underway for a crew member who has disappeared from Singapore’s waters.
The expert said the tug, OSHIO, sank in the Eastern Anchorage at about 2.15pm. Two staff members were reported to get onboard the tug at the time of the event, which occured within Singapore’s slot limitations.
The Police Coast Guard (PCG) rescued a , 39-year-old team part, and he was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The various team member’s partner, PCG and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), is being coordinated by MPA.
The expert stated that the MPA has activated rescue fishermen to ensure the location of the sunken push for rescue operations and that it is is issuing maritime broadcasts for vessels to stay out of the area.
No fuel pollution has been reported, it added.
