Biden, who recently spoke with Xi over the phone, will face a difficult re-election battle in November against his former partner, Donald Trump, who has vowed to take a hard line against China.
The Biden administration has noted successes made through politics with China , including what authorities claim is Beijing’s first assault on makers of precursor chemicals to fentanyl, the drug responsible for an addiction outbreaks in the US.
But while opened to assistance, Biden has increased strain on China beyond Trump in some areas.
In the latest walk, the US Congress, with Biden’s help, voted to push the withdrawal of TikTok from Chinese firm ByteDance or risk a restrictions in the United States.
US authorities allege that the game, which has become popular among US youth, poses security and privacy issues.
ByteDance refutes the complaints and asserts that it has no sales intentions.
