With 11 weeks left before he and his running mate Kamala Harris face Republican former president Donald Trump in the US election of 2024, Minnesota governor Tim Walz accepts the Democratic nomination for vice president on Wednesday ( Aug 21 ).
Walz, 60, a military veteran, former high school teacher and sports manager, will talk about growing up on a farm in Nebraska, his household and privileges that Democrats say are under attack from Trump, who is making his second run for the White House as a Republican.
In contrast to Republicans who claim to be stoking dread and section, Walz has a whimsical attraction on the campaign trail, describing both Harris and himself as” joyful soldiers” focused on a brighter future.
