
Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, an MP of the main opposition party, was taken into custody by Turkish authorities on Friday ( Mar 28 ), according to a statement released on the day.
Imamoglu, a Photovoltaic part who leads Erdogan in some elections, was imprisoned on Sunday pending a graft-related trial, causing the largest anti-government demonstrations in a decade, which in turn resulted in widespread arrests all over the country.
CHP MP Turan Taskin Ozer stated in a blog on X that Mehmet Pehlivan, a prosecutor who defended Imamoglu in the most recent research, was detained” for constructed motives.”
Imamoglu, who has since been freed, requested the release of his lawyer right away because he has been partially fired from his job as a result of the event.
They can’t endure the survivors of this revolution defending themselves, Imamoglu said on X, as if the revolt on democracy wasn’t much.  ,
