Taiwan says TSMC investment ‘historic moment’ for US ties

US REQUIRES” Very HIGH”

Lai claimed on Thursday that the government was not under any pressure from Washington “during TSMC’s US investment method.”

Wei claimed that TSMC’s expansion was fueled by growing US client demand and that it would not have an impact on the business ‘ investments in Taiwan.

Wei said, “our manufacturing capacity is not sufficient, and TSMC planned to build 11 new manufacturing lines in Taiwan this year to fulfill desire.”

Wei noted that” when TSMC builds a generation line in any area outside of Taiwan, it is always driven by customer need.”

He said,” We went to Japan because of Japanese customer demand, to Germany because of German customer demand, and to the US because American consumer need.”

” We are now increasing our funding because US consumers have a lot in demand,” we said.

” Every time TSMC makes a strategic move, TSMC becomes stronger and more competitive,” Lai said.

It also gives Chinese businesses options for global cooperation and boosts Taiwan’s standing.

“TAIWAN’S TSMC”

With almost all of the high-end chips produced it, Taiwan is a world leader in semiconductor manufacturing.

Taiwan’s concentration of chip production has long been seen as a” golden weapon” protecting it from an conquest or blockade by China and as a motivating force for the US to support it.

Trump’s brand-new$ 100 billion investment at TSMC sparked fears that its expanding US footprint and its desire to protect Taiwan were at risk.

Premier Cho Jung-tai stated earlier on Thursday that” TSMC is” Taiwan’s TSMC” and that the company’s production capacity and advanced technology were “rooted in Taiwan.”
