Indian actor Rajinikanth to be discharged from hospital following cardiac procedure

On Thursday, Rajikanth was scheduled to be released. But, this was delayed for unknown reasons.

Born Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, &nbsp, Rajinikanth is one of India’s most famous celebrities – having starred in over 170 movie across five years. Called” Superstar Rajinikanth” by adoring fans, he was awarded&nbsp, India’s highest honor in film, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, in 2019 for his efforts to the market.

Malaysian singer Yasin Sulaiman sentenced to life imprisonment and 16 strokes for drug charges

After finding him guilty of three drug offenses from two years ago, the Shah Alam High Court sentenced Malaysian singer-composer Yasin Sulaiman, 48, to life in prison and 16 strokes of the cane on Thursday ( Aug 22 ).

Yasin’s three costs include self-administering the medicine 11-nor-delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acids, possessing 193.7g of cannabis at the time of his imprisonment in March 2022 and cultivating 17 cannabis plants in his house.

Yasin was recently acquitted of these expenses on Nov 29, 2023 by a lower court which declared that the Mimpi Laila singer was” no emotionally sound” and “exhibited&nbsp, psychotic symptoms that eroded his cognitive skills”.

But, &nbsp, High Court judge Norsharidah Awang allowed the lawyer’s charm to reject Yasin’s conviction. &nbsp, Following the imprisonment, &nbsp, Yasin was handcuffed by the police and taken to Kajang Prison in Selangor, Malaysia.

” It’s a dark day for me”, he was quoted as saying as he was led away by police.

Malaysia’s Good Vibes Festival 2024 cancelled to respect king’s coronation

Organisers of the Malaysian music festival Good Vibes Festival announced on Monday ( Jul 1 ) that the event was cancelled “out of respect” for the upcoming coronation ceremony of Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, the&nbsp, 17th King of Malaysia, which is set to be held on Jul 20 at&nbsp, Istana Negara.

The cancellation came hours after Malaysia’s Central Agency for Application for Filming and Performance by Foreign Artistes Committee&nbsp, ( JK- PUSPAL ) issued a statement, asking organisers to reschedule concerts involving foreign artistes on Jul 20.

Citing its rules, &nbsp, JK- PUSPAL&nbsp, said that organisers are prohibited from holding for music on schedules deemed inadequate by the state.

With a line-up including Glimpse Of Us song Joji, North Korean singer-rapper Bibi, and North Vietnamese DJ Peggy Gou, Good Vibes Festival 2024 was scheduled for July 20 and 21 at Resorts World Awana in Genting Highlands.

Malaysian actress Nora Danish divorces after 7 years of marriage

Sheriff: Narko Integriti sequel in the works, following Malaysian action movie’s success

Indonesian director&nbsp, Syafiq Yusof has confirmed that he will be working on a sequel to his movie&nbsp, Sheriff: Narko Integriti, following its box office success. The action thriller, which stars Zul Ariffin, Syafiq Kyle, Aaron Aziz and Elizabeth Tan, was released in Malaysia and Singapore theatres on&nbsp, Apr 18 and has since grossed over&nbsp, RM60.5 million ( US$ 12.8 million ).

Syafiq stated to Malay news outlet Harian Metro that he was already looking for fresh ideas for a script.

” I’m appreciative for the success of this movie which has earned over RM60 million. Because of that, I agreed to create a movie… Finally, all works out well”, he added.

Syafiq even expressed his enthusiasm at&nbsp, Sheriff: Narko Integriti being screened in theatres in Hong Kong and Indonesia.
