Singapore leaders send condolences over death of late Vietnamese leader Nguyen Phu Trong

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, in a text to Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Jul 20, noted that Mr Trong ‘s&nbsp, multi-decade job in the celebration, including 13 times as General Secretary, contributed significantly to the government’s rapid economic growth and changes to the life of its citizens.

His reliance on party formation and his commitment to eradicating corruption, according to he, provided critical directions for the transformation and expansion of the CPV and the State.

Mr. Wong claimed that Mr. Trong was even a near friend of Singapore and that his visit to Vietnam in September 2012 led to the establishment of a Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Singapore the following year.

” Choose take my deepest condolences at this difficult day,” asked Mr. Wong.

Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, the minister for foreign affairs, also paid tribute to Mr. Trong, noting that under his command Vietnam “acquired the distinction of being a deft political actor” as well as a local financial power.
