Russia, Cuba and North Korea escape worst of Trump’s tariff wrath

MOSCOW: While US President Donald Trump announced levies on allies and foes including Europe, India, Japan and China, some of the world’s most strongly sanctioned countries- Russia, Belarus, Cuba and North Korea- avoided being singled out for special punishing care.

With the planet gripped by business battle, Trump&nbsp, imposed a 10 per cent tax on most products imported to the United States. China, the biggest supplier of products to the US, then faces a 54 per cent tax on all imports to the country’s biggest customer.

” In the face of unrelenting financial war, the United States can no longer remain with a policy of punitive financial surrender”, Trump said as he presented the taxes.

The White House released a list of feedback from folks praising his taxes. They said regular American workers had gain after years of what they described as mistreatment from trading associates such as China.

Trump said he would establish a 10 per share baseline price on all exports to the United States and higher duties on dozens of countries. Russia, Cuba and North Korea did not appear on the list of places facing higher ‘ mutual’ taxes released by the White House.
