Manila’s armed forces announced on Sunday that the Philippines and the United States conducted joint seafaring exercises for the second time in the South China Sea, causing China to likely be offended.
The Asian martial announced in a statement that it was conducting a “maritime cooperative exercise” with the US on Friday and Saturday, which was its first of the year and fifth overall since the joint activities were launched in 2023.
Under Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who has shifted closer to Washington, security arrangements between the two friends have increased, allowing the development of military installations, including those facing Taiwan, to be a reality.
The combined sea task included the United States’ Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group, two guided missile ships, two aircraft and two F-18 Hornet plane.
The Spanish part deployed its Antonio Luna ship, Andres Bonifacio guard ship, two FA-50 fighter planes, and search and rescue property of the air pressure.
The actions “reinforced diplomatic coastal cooperation and interoperability”, the Spanish armed forces said.
Their joint action came at a time when the Philippines had criticized China for the presence of Taiwanese coast guard arteries inside its maritime region, including the 165-meter-long dispatch that it describes as” the dragon” for its size.
On a trip request for comment, the Chinese ambassador in Manila did not respond right away.
