Palestine football team quits Malaysia cup over Israel-Gaza conflict

The Palestine football team has withdrawn from a tournament in Malaysia, according to the Southeast Asian country’s football association on Tuesday( Oct 10 ), citing the conflict between Israel and Hamas militants.

An extraordinary attack by Hamas insurgents, who stormed the Gaza border next Saturday night with a battery of rocket fire andnbsp and killed more than 900 people, has left Israel in disarray.

In retaliation, Israel has completely surrounded the southern outpost and is conducting a massive air and artillery battery of Hamas goals in the Gaza Strip, which has so far claimed the lives of at least 687 individuals.

The Malaysian football association stated in a statement that” the Palestinian team had to withdraw from participation … because they could not fly to Kuala Lumpur due to the tense situation … at the moment.”

The group was scheduled to compete against Tajikistan in the Merdeka Cup pleasant event in Kuala Lumpur, but it has been postponed.

Just three teams will compete in the pot, which will be played until October 17; Tajikistan, Malaysia, and India will also advance to the final.

Next month, the Palestinian staff will face Australia and Lebanon in the 2026 World Cup finals.
