
Pakistan called on India on Saturday ( Apr 26 ) for a “neutral” investigation into the killings of mostly Indian tourists in Kashmir, calling on Islamabad to cooperate and support peace. New Delhi has blamed Islamabad for the killings, saying it was willing to cooperate.
Islamabad has denied any involvement in the invasion on Tuesday that left 25 Indian and one Bangladeshi visitors dead, despite India having identified two of the three suspected militants as Pakistanis.
Pakistan’s interior minister, Mohsin Naqvi, stated that” Pakistan is completely prepared to engage with any natural authorities to ensure that the truth is exposed and justice is served.”
Pakistan did not sacrifice its sovereignty, he declared at a press convention,” but it continues to be committed to peace, security, and the upholding of international standards.”
The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has pledged to do the attackers” to the ends of the earth” and that those who planned and carried it out” may get punished beyond their creativity.” American officials and other figures have even started calling for military reprisal against Pakistan.
India and Pakistan launched a slew of measures against one another following the attack, including a Pakistani airline closing its aircraft to Indian carriers and halting India’s implementation of the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty, which regulates water-sharing from the Indus River and its tributaries.
After four years of relative calm, the two sides, who both completely claim Kashmir and are partially in charge of it, had also exchanged fire across their of post border.
The Indian Army claimed to have responded to “unprovoked” small arms fire from a number of Pakistan Army messages that started at midnight on Friday along the 740km de facto boundary separating the Indian and Pakistani places of Kashmir. There were no injuries reported.
The Bangladeshi government did not respond to a request for comment.
