North Korea criticises Rubio, says it will respond strongly to US provocations

SEOUL: North Korea on Monday ( Feb 3 ) criticised US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for calling it a “rogue state” in a media interview, saying his comments do not help US interests, state media KCNA said.

North Korea’s unusual government said the state will respond firmly to hostile US actions, KCNA reported.

According to Yonhap news agency, this is North Korea’s second criticism of the Trump presidency since President Donald Trump re-entered the White House on January 20.

The government also criticized the United States ‘ innovative missile defense shield strategy, saying that it necessitates North Korea’s development, according to KCNA.

Trump last year signed an attempt that “mandated a method to create an’ American Iron Dome ‘”, a next-generation US missile defence shield against nuclear, fast, cruise missile and various forms of underwater attack.

” The idea of a fresh missile defence system, which recalls the ghost of the hazardous’ Star Wars ‘ program of… the Cold War, poses a danger of justifying an arms race under the pretext of coping with the’ threat’ of adversaries, irrespective of its feasibility”, North Korea’s foreign ministry said, according to KCNA.

” We must constantly develop nuclear-based self-defence capabilities because the increasingly harsh global security environment calls for it,” says one author.
