Modi’s BJP says US State Department targeting India

OCCRP’s reports have likewise accused state-sponsored thieves in India of using Israeli-made Pegasus malware to targeted government critics.

The state has recently denied both allegations.

The BJP has recently accused Gandhi, the OCCRP and 92-year-old businessman financier-philanthropist George Soros of attacking Modi.

On Thursday, it cited a French press report that claimed the US Agency for International Development and “other heavy state images” like Soros were funding OCCRP.

In a number of X-linked messages, the BJP claimed that” the Deep State had a clear goal to destabilize India by targeting Prime Minister Modi.”

OCCRP has been used as a media device to carry out a deep condition agenda, according to the statement.

At a Thursday standard press briefing by the BJP, Sambit Patra, a nationwide spokesperson and senator, repeated the charges.

” A European investigative media party… has revealed that… 50 per cent of OCCRP’s money comes straight from the US State Department”, Patra said.

“OCCRP has been used as a media device to carry out a deep position agenda.”

The State Department, US AID, Soros and the Congress group did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Additionally, the Indian Foreign Ministry did not respond to a request for comment on the ruling group’s claim that the State Department had been attacked by the party.

OCCRP claimed in a statement that it was separate and unaffiliated with any social group.

” The US government, while providing some cash to OCCRP, has no state in our newspaper methods and no power over our reporting”, it said.

The government has recently been in the spotlight due to the US’s arrest of Gautam Adani, a figure that opposition leaders claim Modi has always protected, and the country’s legislature was suspended several days last week as opposition politicians demanded a discussion on the matter.

Modi’s BJP and Adani have denied the charges.
