Malaysia urges UN Security Council to take prompt action to end violence in Israeli-Hamas conflict

Malaysia has urged the UN Security Council( UNSC) to act quickly to urge all parties to stop using violence in the midst of tensions between Israel and Hamas in and around the Gaza Strip.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the wider Palestinian-Israeli issue has claimed too many life and injured thousands of people.

He stated in legislature on Monday, October 9,” The international community should likewise put more pressure on all parties to stop the war for regional security and stability.”

Based on global rules provisions and UNSC resolutions, Ahmad Zahid stated that Malaysia remains open and may continue to support all practical and realistic efforts to find a just and long-lasting resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli issue.

He also claimed that the international community, particularly European nations, appeared unconcerned with Israel’s steps against the Arab people.

” Why do the two strategies differ from one another?” For instance, the European powers quickly offered aid to Kyiv during the Ukraine crisis. However, he said, it is entirely disregarded when it comes to Palestine.

According to Ahmad Zahid, this exclusive strategy has raised concerns about the justice of international law and principle protection.

He continued by saying that the Indonesian government has taken a distinct and unwavering position on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

According to him, as quoted by the Star,” the struggle to rescue the property and rights of the Arab people will continue to be a top priority in the Indonesian government’s international policy.”
