Malaysia PM discusses MH17 downing with Russia’s Putin

Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the parliament of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 during a visit to Moscow, weeks after a UN report found Russia to be to blame for the tragedy.

According to a statement he made to Malaysian media on Wednesday ( May 14),” I took the opportunity to raise the issue with President Vladimir Putin during our diplomatic conversations,” according to local media company Bernama. &nbsp,

Anwar was asked to comment on current developments involving the results of a UN aviation government. &nbsp,

This week, according to the International Civil Aviation Organization ( ICAO ) report, Russia was to blame for the 2014 fighting between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian forces. MH17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine in 2014.

Moscow has criticized the ICAO’s conclusions regarding the accident, which claimed the verdict was biased. All 298 passengers and crew were killed. &nbsp,

Late on Wednesday, Anwar promised to keep pushing for transparency in light of the tragedy.

Malaysia continues to be steadfast in ensuring transparency and a only solution for the victims and their families who continue to bear the brunt of this tragedy, he said.

Anwar claimed that during the meeting, Putin expressed condolences to the victims ‘ families, which included 196 Dutch nationals, 43 Malaysians, and 38 Australian nationals or residents.

Anwar demanded a complete and thorough investigation that wasn’t politicized because of Putin.
