Indonesia’s antitrust regulator acknowledged in a statement on Wednesday ( Jun 26 ) that Shopee had admitted to breaking a monopoly rule for its courier service in Indonesia.
Additionally, the organization stated that Shopee has agreed to modify its working procedures.
A request for comment on the speech from the organization was not promptly responded to.
The organization, known as KPPU, had accused Shopee’s nearby division of breaking anti-competitive laws by directing customers to use particular distribution solutions, one of which has a Shopee Indonesia professional on the board of directors.
Shopee, the business head in Indonesia’s rapid- growing e- commerce sector, is owned by South Asian technology strong Sea Ltd.
KPPU was also looking into the nearby division of Lazada, the East Asian division of Alibaba, besides Shopee.
