India’s response to China’s decision to rename areas in the northern state of Arunachal Pradesh where the Asian neighbors share a border was revealed on Wednesday ( May 14), adding that the Himalayan country was a key component of India.
Beijing has previously changed the names of places in Arunachal Pradesh, which has caused tense ties between the two nations, especially as they deteriorated quickly following a deadly martial fight on their frontier in 2020.
In October, they came to terms with their four-year military stalemate in the western Himalayas, which caused soldiers to leave.
Lin Jian, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry, stated in a press conference that Beijing had” standardized some place names in ( Arunachal Pradesh ), which is entirely within China’s sovereignty, repeating what has been Beijing’s standard response.
Beijing asserts that South Tibet is a part of Arunachal Pradesh, which it refers to as Zangnan, a claim that New Delhi has frequently refuted.
According to Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesperson for India’s international department,” Creative calling does not change the obvious fact that Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always be an essential and intrinsic part of India.”
