Hamas announces ‘national unity’ deal with Palestinian rivals

BEIJING: China referred to the agreement as a “peace deal” between Hamas and other Palestinian organizations, including rivals Fatah, in Beijing on Tuesday ( Jul 23 ), announcing that it had agreed to work together to bring “national unity” to power Gaza together once the conflict is over.

According to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who was present with senior Hamas national Musa Abu Marzuk, Fatah minister Mahmud as Aloul, and emissaries from 12 different Arab groups, they had agreed to establish an “interim regional peace government” to regulate post-war Gaza.
