FPT consortium commences work on $173 million AI centre in southern Vietnam

In a recent move to expand its AI sector, Vietnam’s leading tech company FPT and its subsidiaries announced on Wednesday ( July 21 ) that the company had begun building on a US$ 74 million artificial intelligence job in south-central Binh Dinh province.

The initiative, developed by a collaboration including FPT City Danang, FPT Investment, and FPT Software, covers an area of 93.24 ha, FPT said in a speech.

It comprises an AI heart, an knowledge area and a supporting industrial territory, of which the AI centre may focus on research, software production, modern transformation assistance and cybersecurity solution provision, it added.

FPT is the most important technology firm on Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City ipo, with a business capitalisation of US$ 7.7 billion. It offers a variety of AI, sky and huge data service, and last year its entire income exceeded US$ 2 billion.

In April, FPT announced a plan to build a US$ 200 million Artificial factory using Nvidia’s design chips and technology.
