Fourth tourist dies after mass alcohol poisoning incident in Laos

The death toll for the Laos town of Vang Vieng, according to the prime minister’s statement on Thursday ( Nov. 21 ), brings the total to four in the incident.

Bianca Jones, 19, passed away after being evacuated from Laos for care in a Thai doctor, according to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Her companion, even 19, remains hospitalised in Thailand.

Every parent should experience the worst fear and horror that no one should experience, Albanese told lawmakers, adding that” we also take this instant to express our thoughts on Holly Bowles, Bianca’s friend, who is fighting for her existence.”

Bowles is currently receiving life support at Bangkok Hospital, according to ABC News, an American media outlet. &nbsp,

The two American women had a party drinking experience that night, and on November 13 they both fell ill. They are alleged to have consumed beverages contaminated with alcohol, which is sometimes added to alcoholic beverages at obscene bars and can result in serious toxicity or death.

According to a report from The Age, both women had been staying at Nana Backpacker Hostel throughout their journey. &nbsp,

Duong Duc Toan, the manager of the hotel, claimed on Tuesday that other customers had informed them that the two girls had been restless after they had not checked out as planned on November 13. The dormitory therefore made arrangements for their medical transportation.

He claimed that the women had earlier gathered with more than 100 different guests for free Lao vodka shots as a token of hospitality and had previously joined them for a reception. No other guests reported any issues, according to him, adding that the ladies had finally rented a nightclub and then came back in the morning.

The Australian government updated its travel expert to include information on many foreigners who had been drinking alcohol in Laos this month and how to stay alert while drinking it. &nbsp,
