China’s military to conduct armed patrols, live-fire exercises near Myanmar border

Beijing: China’s military announced on Monday ( Aug 26 ) that it had organized army units and joint air-ground police patrols close to its border with Myanmar to maintain security and stability as fighting between Myanmar’s ruling junta and rebel forces gets worse.

According to a statement from the defense, the guards will focus on areas near Ruili, Zhenkang, and other frontline regions in China.

Big fighting has broken out in the northern Kachin and Shan states of Myanmar, with artillery shells causing injuries and property damage on the Chinese area as well as putting a threat to Chinese infrastructure projects.

According to the military, the Southern Theater of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army is building military models to evaluate forces ‘ ability to “quickly walk, stop, and power, and strike up, and maintain security and stability in the border areas.”

According to a separate speech from the Chinese defense, live-fire activities are even scheduled to be conducted on the Chinese side of the border from August 27 through August 29.

The military announced that workouts will be held in areas south of Ruili and in other regions of Zhenkang state and Gengma Dai and Va automatic region in north Yunnan state.

China claimed that the issue was having a detrimental impact on social order and balance along the China-Myanmar border.

Wang Yi, the Chinese foreign minister, added that it would keep “its devotion to regain peace and stability in Myanmar.”
