Beijing: On Wednesday ( July 24 ), Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba in southern China. Both sides demanded peace as Russia’s war rages on against its neighbor.
China asserts that, unlike the United States and other European countries, it is a natural participant in the conflict and that it is not providing lethal aid to either part.
However, China and Russia have a close relationship politically and economically, and NATO members have hailed Beijing as a “decisive facilitator” of the conflict.
According to Beijing’s foreign ministry, the couple spokesperson Mao Ning told journalists that they “exchanged views on the Ukraine problems” while holding discussions in Guangzhou.
We support all attempts that contribute to harmony and are willing to continue playing a positive role in the resumption of peace talks, she said, “even though the conditions and scheduling are not yet older.”
She continued,” China has always been strongly committed to promoting a democratic solution to the crisis.”
In a statement, Kuleba said Ukraine “also wants to follow the path of harmony, treatment, and development”.
He continued,” I am convinced that these are the corporate objectives we share,” adding that” Russian anger has slowed down growth and destroyed peace.”
Kuleba is the first older Ukrainian official to travel to China since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
His vacation is scheduled to end on Friday.
