China’s COMAC to expand Shanghai C919 plane factory as orders grow

China: China’s COMAC is expanding manufacturing facilities for its domestic C919 jets in Shanghai, according to one of the job contractors, as the condition- owned planemaker ramps up manufacturing to accomplish hundreds of new orders.

A state-owned company of aircraft planning and construction services, China Aviation Planning and Design Institute ( AVIC- CAPDI) announced on its Twitter account at the end of April that it had “recently won the charge for the second phase of the C919 large passenger plane batch production capacity construction project.”

AVIC- APC said the job was in Pudong, Shanghai and had a complete building place of 330, 000 square m. COMAC is headquartered in Shanghai.

The C919 huge passenger aircraft’s future batch production needs will be met, according to the project’s completion, which will significantly improve its production efficiency and support domestic great aircraft’s commercial operation and market competition.

The next phase of the project, according to AVIC- CAPDI, generally includes the development of an assemblage plant, parts warehouse and tarmac area.
