PARIS: According to an International Energy Agency ( IEA ) report released on Friday( Sep 22 ), China will control half of the installed capacity of electrolysers for producing low-carbon hydrogen by the end of 2023 amid a slowdown in new projects due to inflation.
According to the IEA statement on hydrogen,” After a slow stop, China has taken the lead on electrolyser implementation.”
China’s installed electrolyser capacity has increased significantly in recent years, and it is anticipated that it will reach 1.2 gigawatts, or 50 % of the world ability, after accounting for only 10 % of that power in 2020.
Using energy generated by renewable energy sources like solar, wind, or nuclear power, electrolysers are tools for industrially separating hydrogen and oxygen within waters substances.
Electrolysers are becoming crucial to replace conventional methods of producing commercial hydrogen as the transition to alternative energy is under way.
These have relied on the cheap but greenhouse gas emissions polluting gas gasoline in a procedure related to the petroleum business.
