MANILA: According to the Chinese government’s embassy in the Philippines, the government does not handle any type of cyberattacks and will not permit any nation or person to carry out for illegal actions using Chinese facilities.
It provided the assurances after the Philippines announced on Monday ( Feb5 ) that Chinese hackers had tried unsuccessfully to access government websites last month, including President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s personal website.
Manila claimed that the hackers were using the services of the Chinese state-owned firm Unicom, but she did not claim that they were connected to any particular condition. Unicom did not respond right away to a post request.
According to a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Manila,” the Chinese government has always vehemently opposed and cracked down on all types of cyber attack in accordance with the law, and it forbids any nation or person from engaging in such unlawful activities on Chinese soil or using Chinese infrastructure.”
To strengthen its digital defenses, the Philippines is now developing a five-year security strategy. Last month, its military declared it would establish a digital control.
