BEIJING: According to the Chinese foreign ministry, on Wednesday ( Jan 3 ), China is willing to give Japan the assistance it needs in the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck the nation on New Year’s Day.

According to government spokesman Wang Wenbin at a routine media briefing, there have been no reported Chinese casualties from the earthquake.

The disaster is the deadliest in Japan since at least 2016, according to Chinese officials, who have confirmed 62 incidents so much.

Wang responded that no Chinese people were hurt in the incident when questioned about the plane collision at Tokyo’s Haneda airport on Tuesday, adding that Japan had never made any requests for assistance.

According to Wang, the Chinese embassy in Japan has gotten in touch with the 14 Hong Kong travellers who were on the Japan Airlines planes in question.

Five of the six team members on the smaller De Havilland Dash- 8 Coast Watch turbine were killed in the incident, which raised concerns about airport security, but all 379 passengers on board the Japan Airlines Airbus A350 survived.
