China says Hamas and Fatah express political will for reconciliation

Beijing’s foreign ministry announced on Tuesday ( Apr 30 ) that rival Palestinian groups Hamas and Fatah have expressed the political will to seek reconciliation through dialogue during the unity talks in the country.

Since Hamas soldiers expelled Fatah from the Gaza Strip in a brief conflict in 2007, the two parties have failed to resolve social disagreements, and their discussions took place in context of Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza.

According to Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian,” The Arab National Liberation Movement and the Islamic Resistance Group members arrived in Beijing a few days ago for in-depth and candid dialogue.”

They both agreed to carry on the conversation to bring about the realization of Israeli unity and solidarity at a timely time.

Lin claimed that both parties had thanked Beijing for their efforts to “promote Arab inside cohesion and reached an agreement on more dialogue.”
