China, Russia always moving forward ‘hand in hand’, Xi tells Putin

Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping stated on Tuesday ( Dec 31 ) that China and Russia have always worked “hand in hand” and “on the right foot in the right direction, months after the two nations” signed a new era strategic partnership” on significant issues.

In May, the two leaders came to an agreement to strengthen diplomatic relations and work together on issues of mutual interest, including Taiwan, Ukraine, and American rivals.

Moscow’s ambassador to Beijing, who was cited by Russia’s state-run RIA media organization as saying Xi may travel to Russia in 2025, was also cited as saying last Friday.

Xi praised the mutual respect and proper coordination between the two countries in a greeting to Russian President Vladimir Putin in exchange for his desire to keep a close relationship with Putin.

China-Russia participation in different fields will continue to lead to fresh growth opportunities, Xi added.

After serving for a second term in office for the first time in history, the Chinese president was referred to as a “dear buddy” in the Kremlin in 2023.
