China hopes EU can be ‘trustworthy’ cooperation partner, Xi says

China reportedly hoped the European Union would be able to turn its attention to” a trustworthy partner for cooperation” in a phone call on Tuesday ( Jan 14), according to state broadcaster CCTV.

According to reports, Xi was quoted as saying that as long as China and Europe respect one another, treat each other as equals, and engage in earnest dialogue, they may “advance assistance and achieve great things.”

As the world’s situation gets more complicated and serious, Xi urged China and Europe to improve corporate communication and foster reciprocal trust.

The phone call was held as China and the EU’s hostilities continue to grow over the author’s tariffs on Chinese energy cars.
