China firmly opposes US remarks on Arunachal Pradesh, foreign ministry says

As tensions abound over a contested border shared by both nations, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry said on Thursday ( Mar 21 ) that China strongly opposes the United States saying Arunachal Pradesh is a part of India.

” Demarcation of China- India limit has never been completed,” Lin Jian said at a typical press briefing when addressing a question regarding the ongoing hostility around the unmarked borders.

The China-India border dispute has nothing to do with the US, Lin said. It is a subject for China and India. Everyone is aware that the US has often used arbitrarily to stoke and apply international problems to advance its own egotistical interests.

The northern state that shares a border with China will always be an “integral and inalienable part of India,” according to the Indian government’s foreign government earlier this year.

A declaration from the US State Department stated that the US state” strongly opposes” any unilateral efforts to improve territorial claims it and recognizes Arunachal Pradesh as a part of India.

India and China reveal a 3, 800km border, much of it ill demarcated. In the region’s middle of 2020, at least 20 Indian troops and four Chinese soldiers were killed in combat.

Over the past month, both army have fortified jobs and deployed soldiers and equipment it, and they have continued to trade thorns over territorial claims despite agreeing to keep talks.
